The Styling Algos team uses personalization algorithms to achieve two main goals:
1. Enhance the client experience by making it feel uniquely tailored to each individual.
2. Develop systems that empower our talented stylists to provide exceptional service to our clients.

These experiences are crafted by combining elements of style, diversity, and our capacity to understand and cater to client requests and preferences.

About the Role

In this position, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of personalized apparel shopping. Your responsibilities will involve skillfully blending algorithms with the expertise of our exceptional stylists. This synergy between algorithms and stylists ensures that we consistently deliver one-of-a-kind content to our clients, tailored to their specific preferences and where they currently stand in their style evolution. Stitch Fix's "fix" offering provides a highly personalized collection of items tailored to each client's unique aesthetic, size, fit, and price preferences.

One of our primary objectives is to consistently enhance the quality of these assortments across aspects such as seasonality, diversity, and freshness. The Styling Algos team is dedicated to not only providing personalized recommendations to our clients but also optimizing our stylists' effectiveness in their roles. This position plays a pivotal role in directly influencing our business's overall success, offering a distinctive opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Strategy, Product, Merchandising, Marketing, and Engineering stakeholders.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Improve the reliability, performance, and maintainability of business-critical real-time systems. Conduct system audits, identify performance bottlenecks, improve observability and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with data scientists in developing and deploying new ML features. Assist in refining existing models for better accuracy and efficiency.
  • Help ensure code quality and maintainability of our systems by engaging in code and system reviews and mentoring data scientists. Develop tools and best practices for model development and feature integration into production systems. Stay up to date with ML and architecture industry trends.
  • Collaborate with our highly supportive data platform team, particularly for real-time applications.
  • Work with our product, product design, and engineering teams to create roadmaps for developing new client products, user features, data flywheels, and infrastructure

  • You have a strong proficiency in Python for tasks related to data science and analytics.

Compensation and Benefits

Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance. In addition, the position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and other benefits. Applicants should apply via our internal or external careers site.
Salary Range
$211,000—$226,000 USD
