Data & Products and Platforms is responsible for products and services related to business intelligence and big data engineering and data modeling & data management. This ranges across business intelligence (BI) to data ingestion from multiple sources, data storage, and front-end BI, data management & operations. Data & Products and Platforms is a strategic area within Vestas Digital Solutions with the goal of becoming an increasingly relevant partner in business-critical solutions relying on data. We aim to empower Customers, Partners, and Employees to discover, access, and connect to the information they need for insights and actions.

 

We are ramping up and building capacity and capabilities to meet current and future requirements supporting the overall vision of maintaining Vestas' position as number 1 in the sustainable energy business.

 

Responsibilities

You will have an integral part in developing as well as providing maintenance, administration, and technical support for multiple data pipelines. You will build data pipelines from various sources using different methods to transform raw data into useful data systems. Your role will be to ensure that data is easily accessible, works smoothly, and is performant.

  • Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements; identify technical requirements and constraints
  • Aggregate data from both internal and external data sources to build a data processing system
  • Design, build, and deploy Data Pipelines on Azure, SQL Server databases, and unstructured data sources
  • Create new pipelines and build reusable components at scale to support reporting & analytics data products
  • Write complex queries to transform raw data sources into accessible models by coding
  • Clean, prepare, and optimize data at scale for integration and consumption
  • Implement automated workflow using workflow scheduling processes like Apache airflow
  • Maintain data pipelines and support systems failure and troubleshoot the issue
  • Perform pipeline data validation and ensure that data delivery, security, and quality are not compromised
  • Provide and develop monitoring and performance metrics for data pipelines to measure and ensure performance critical metrics are met
  • Maintain application and system documentation
  • Ensure code quality and compliance with programming standards
  • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
  • Continuously evaluate data systems, processes, and tools to identify opportunities for enhancement, automation, and optimization including data acquisition
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related subject area, and experience in the data field
  • At least 3 years experience as a data engineer/data pipeline developer or in a similar role
  • 3-4 years of hands-on experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform, relational databases, and ETL methodology
  • Proficiency with Azure data products including DataFactory, DataBricks
  • Relational and non-relational data store design and deployment, including data retention and archiving strategy
  • Data processing management and development, including real-time data ingestion and batch processing
  • Data solutions monitoring and optimization for BLOB, Data Lake, and relational stores
  • Experience with REST API creation and development
  • Experience with GitLab and its CI/CD tool
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, IoT Hub, Functions, Databricks, Synapse, Spark
  • Experience with big data technologies, such as Kafka, S3, Spark, Hadoop, MongoDB, and Hive etc.
  • Technical expertise in data models, and data mining
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python, R, JavaScript)
