Seeking a Senior Data Scientist with experience developing machine learning or statistical models used for analytic or product solutions. Applications of models can include predictive modeling, forecasting, classification, clustering / entity segmentation, or inferential analysis. Backgrounds in NLP / NLU, Computer Vision, and applications of Reinforcement Learning will also be considered. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable presenting work to an executive audience of both data and non-data practitioners, and be able to distill complex topics or findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Actively develop (code) machine learning or statistical models in a cloud environment, and work with engineering teams to deploy and optimize them in a production state
- Connect systems and large data sets across the company to develop predictive models that adjust to emerging customer, economic, and business trends
- Monitor performance of models with respect to accuracy and retrain as necessary, while also leveraging new data sources as they become available
- Mine data from multiple source systems to support internal analysis as required
- Regularly present or demo recent work to executive and product teams
Requirements
- 4+ years of work experience with a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent four-year degree), or 2+ years of work experience with a Masters Degree (or equivalent six-year degree), or a PhD in a data or technology intensive field
- Knowledge of and professional development experience with common Machine Learning or Statistical techniques and their uses. Examples include Linear Regression, Ensemble Models, Density Based Scanning, Association Modeling, Topic Modeling, Monte-Carlo Simulation, Time Series Analysis and Forecasting, etc…
- Python and SQL languages, but will also consider R language or similar languages
- Experience with popular machine learning or statistical modeling packages such as scikit-learn, tensorflow, keras, pytorch, scipy, numpy, statsmodels or their equivalent packages in R
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills along with solid deck or demo presentation skills
- Data Visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of Agile development methodology (Scrum or Kanban)
- Professional background in Financial Services, Financial Technology, Banking, Credit Risk or similar
