At CMC Markets, I defined its strategy and execution plan and then delivered technology, people and process change to enable multiple business domains such as engineering, cybersecurity, design, product, marketing, operations and compliance. I also have established a product team and OKRs, making CMC more customer-led, and a cloud team to uplift the company's engineering capability, migrate their trading platform to AWS and build a data platform on AWS.
I was part of AWS Dev Warriors/Alliance - an AWS program for 26 cloud engineers recognised by Amazon as thought leaders in ANZ. I presented at AWS ReInvent 2020 - “GitOps Compliant: How CommBank multiplied AWS Kubernetes Clusters”, about CBA’s “Application Infrastructure”, the bank’s platform as a service that standardised and automated the delivery of apps to production on AWS and datacenter. As a staff engineer, I managed this platform, which enabled CBA to deliver OpenBanking, EventHub and other workloads on AWS in a compliant, secure and automated way. This platform included not only a robust CI/CD but also thwe automation of controls and a comprehensive risk management framework. By doing so, I influenced 20+ teams across the bank, 300+ engineers and senior managers.
I graduated in Cybersecurity, Distributed and Cloud Applications from the University of Lisbon, IT Governance from Helsinki University and Entrepreneurship from Babson College; I was a researcher on distributed systems at MIT Portugal and INESC-ID.

I'm the former head of transformation of CMC Markets APAC and a digital transformation leader who drives organisational change through technology, people, product, processes and strategic thinking. My expertise is AWS, Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps: I built the CommBank Application Infrastructure platform on AWS, used by 300+ engineers as of 2020, and changed the bank’s engineering ecosystem through mentoring, process standardisation, automation and well-architected systems.
