Bio

A seasoned Technology and Privacy Associate, I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the prestigious Kenya School of Law and a Bachelor of Laws degree with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the University of Nairobi. Currently serving at KO Associates LLP in Nairobi, Kenya, my expertise lies in navigating the complex landscape of Data Protection Laws, where I offer insightful counsel on GDPR, Kenyan Data Protection Act, and POPEE to ensure meticulous global and local compliance.

With a proactive approach to Risk Management, I specialize in identifying and mitigating data protection risk profiles, effectively reducing potential privacy incidents. Functioning as a Privacy Governance Strategist, I've developed and implemented strategies to enhance corporate privacy governance and third-party compliance, achieving notable improvements in overall privacy compliance scores.

My proficiency extends to program development, impactful training, and stakeholder engagement, fostering a robust compliance culture within organizations. Holding certifications such as OneTrust Data Privacy Professional, I have further fortified my skills through courses from the University of Derby, EC Council, The Linux Foundation, Cisco, University of Pretoria, and Strathmore University in crucial areas like Data Protection, Cybersecurity, and Privacy Rights in the Digital Age.

My legal journey commenced as an Advocate Trainee at KO Associates LLP, where I played a pivotal role in successful litigation strategies and ensured alignment of regulatory documents. I also contributed to the community during this period by providing project and administrative support for a local LGBTQ community.

Previously, I served as a Legal Intern at O.N Makau & Mulei Advocates, gaining valuable experience in general legal research, contract review, and document management. Additionally, I demonstrated versatility as a Tutor at the Wells Institute of Development Studies, providing services on MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

With a comprehensive skill set, a commitment to excellence, and a passion for technology and privacy, I am dedicated to making significant contributions to the legal and tech landscape.
