About the role

Somos una startup de 28 personas con sede en Ciudad de México, pero trabajamos completamente en remoto con compañeros en Argentina, Colombia, España y Canadá. Construimos una plataforma de personalización para e-commerce en América Latina — recomendaciones de productos, búsqueda semántica, segmentación de usuarios — y estamos creciendo rápido. Hemos levantado nuestra Serie A y acabamos de cerrar contratos con dos de los cinco retailers más grandes de la región. Buscamos un Junior AI Engineer que quiera crecer con nosotros. No te vamos a pedir experiencia que un junior no puede tener. Te vamos a pedir curiosidad, ganas de aprender, y la honestidad para decir «no sé» cuando no sabes y «me interesa entender esto mejor» cuando algo te genera dudas. Nuestro stack es Python, FastAPI, PyTorch, y PostgreSQL. Trabajamos en inglés técnicamente, pero somos un equipo completamente bilingüe. We build an AI personalization platform for e-commerce in the region. We just closed our Series A and signed two of the five largest retailers in Latin America. We want a Junior AI Engineer who is curious, honest about gaps, and ready to grow fast with a supportive team. The work is real, the team is warm, and the learning curve is steep in a good way.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior engineers in building and evaluating recommendation and ranking models
  • Write data preprocessing scripts and feature engineering pipelines under senior guidance
  • Participate in model evaluation sessions and document results clearly
  • Help maintain our internal ML tooling and experiment tracking setup
  • Ask good questions, contribute ideas in sprint reviews, and grow — that's literally part of the job description

Requirements

  • Python fundamentals — you can write clean functions, work with APIs, and debug your own code
  • Basic familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow — a personal project, a university course, or a Kaggle competition counts
  • SQL for querying and exploring data from relational databases
  • Understanding of ML fundamentals: train/test splits, overfitting, evaluation metrics — you can explain them, not just run them
  • Comfort working fully remotely and communicating clearly in English and/or Spanish
  • Any portfolio project involving real data or a deployed ML model is a strong plus
