Professional Overview
I am Zhao Liu, a first-year PhD student in Artificial Intelligence at University College Dublin, with a strong research background in autonomous driving perception, multi-modal learning, and data-driven sensing systems. I hold both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Computer Science from China University of Mining and Technology, where I built solid foundations in computer vision, deep learning, and algorithmic modeling. My research spans multi-modal occupancy prediction, driving behavior modeling, robust object detection in adverse conditions, neuromorphic computing, and FPGA-based acceleration. I have completed multiple research internships at leading institutes and companies including Tsinghua University, Horizon Robotics, PhiGent Robotics, and Waytous, gaining extensive hands-on experience in 3D perception, stereo vision, model optimization, and real-world deployment.Currently, my PhD focuses on the intersection of AI and agricultural sensing, where I work with environmental data, spatio-temporal modeling, and sensor-driven intelligence. I am motivated to take on part-time AI research roles to broaden my practical experience, contribute to real-world AI projects, and further develop my expertise.
