About the role

Our ML platform serves 8 internal teams — and none of them are happy with the deployment experience. Model registration takes 14 steps. Deployment configs are copy-pasted from team to team. The CLI has 47 flags and no documentation. We need someone to fix the developer experience before our best ML engineers quit out of frustration. You'll interview internal ML teams to understand their pain points, then rebuild the tools and workflows they use every day: a simplified CLI, a self-service model registration portal, one-click deployments with sensible defaults, and documentation that people actually read. This is a unique role — you're building tools for internal customers who sit 10 feet away (metaphorically — we're remote). The feedback loop is immediate and the gratitude is real. Responsibilities

  • Redesign the ML platform CLI for simplicity and usability
  • Build a self-service model registration and deployment portal
  • Create comprehensive documentation and onboarding guides
  • Interview ML teams to identify and prioritize developer experience pain points
  • Implement one-click deployment workflows with sensible defaults

Requirements

  • 3+ years in platform engineering or developer tools
  • Strong Python skills for CLI and API development
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience
  • Empathy for developer experience and user-centered design thinking
  • Good technical writing skills for documentation
