About the role

Our ML platform has a powerful API — and nobody uses it correctly. Engineers copy code from Slack threads, hardcode credentials, skip error handling, and build fragile integrations that break on every API update. The SDK should make the right way the easy way: typed interfaces, automatic retry logic, built-in authentication, and versioned client libraries that survive API evolution. You'll design and build the Python SDK from scratch: clean interface design that maps to ML workflows rather than raw API endpoints, comprehensive error handling with actionable error messages, automatic serialization for model artifacts, and the documentation that developers actually read. SDK design is API design's harder cousin. An API serves requests; an SDK shapes how people think about your platform. Every method name, every default parameter, every error message influences how thousands of engineers interact with your system daily. If you obsess over developer experience, this role lets you define it.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build the Python SDK for ML platform integration
  • Create typed interfaces mapping to ML workflows rather than raw endpoints
  • Implement comprehensive error handling with actionable developer messages
  • Build automatic serialization and authentication for seamless integration
  • Write SDK documentation with examples that developers copy and customize

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Python with SDK or library design experience
  • Deep understanding of API design patterns and developer experience
  • Experience with ML platform APIs and model deployment workflows
  • Strong documentation skills for developer-facing technical writing
  • Track record building tools that engineers voluntarily adopt
