Junior AI Wake Phrase False Positive Analyst

About the role

The models you'll help improve wake up voice assistants used by millions of households every day, and right now they wake up too often when nobody actually said the wake phrase. You will analyze logged false-positive activations, categorize the acoustic patterns that trigger them, and help build targeted training data to reduce the false wake rate without hurting true positive detection. You'll work closely with a senior speech engineer who will review your analysis weekly and help you grow into a full model development role over time.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze logged false-positive wake phrase activations for common acoustic patterns
  • Build targeted training data addressing the most frequent false-positive categories
  • Track false wake rate improvements across model iterations
  • Support evaluation of new wake word models before production rollout
  • Document recurring false-positive patterns for the speech engineering team

Requirements

  • Some Python and TensorFlow experience, coursework or personal projects welcome
  • Interest in speech and audio machine learning
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of audio log data
  • Detail-oriented approach to pattern analysis
