Junior Cloud ML Platform Developer

About the role

We just launched our internal ML platform six months ago, and adoption is growing faster than we expected. Thirty data scientists across three product teams now use it to train, version, and deploy models. The platform works — but it needs someone dedicated to making it better, faster, and easier to use. As a junior developer on the platform team, you'll handle the steady stream of feature requests, bug fixes, and integration work that keeps the platform running smoothly. Your senior teammates will handle architecture decisions; your job is to ship reliable code that makes data scientists' lives easier. Expect to touch MLflow, Kubernetes, and a lot of Python glue code in your first month. This is a growth role. We'll pair you with a senior engineer for your first 90 days, and you'll have a structured learning path covering distributed systems, container orchestration, and ML workflow design. Responsibilities

  • Implement platform features requested by data science teams
  • Fix bugs and improve reliability of existing ML workflows
  • Write integration tests for deployment pipelines
  • Update documentation as the platform evolves
  • Monitor platform health and respond to alerts during business hours
  • Participate in code reviews and engineering team rituals

Requirements

  • 1+ year of professional Python development experience
  • Basic understanding of Docker containers and cloud services
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts
  • Eagerness to learn Kubernetes, MLflow, and ML infrastructure
  • CS degree or equivalent practical experience
