Junior Computer Vision Developer

About the role

We process satellite imagery to monitor deforestation, urban sprawl, and agricultural land use for environmental NGOs and government agencies. Our models detect changes across millions of square kilometers — and we need another pair of hands to help build them. As a junior computer vision developer, you'll start with data preparation and augmentation tasks: cleaning labeled satellite datasets, building augmentation pipelines, and running baseline experiments. Over time, you'll take on more complex work like training segmentation models and evaluating detection accuracy across different geographies. Our senior CV engineer will mentor you closely. You'll have weekly 1:1s, structured learning goals, and the freedom to explore related problems. We care about growing people, not just shipping features.

Responsibilities

  • Build data augmentation pipelines for satellite imagery datasets
  • Clean and validate labeled training data for land use classification
  • Run baseline experiments and document results systematically
  • Assist with segmentation model training and evaluation
  • Participate in weekly learning sessions and code reviews

Requirements

  • Python proficiency with basic PyTorch experience
  • Academic or personal projects in computer vision
  • Familiarity with image processing concepts
  • Attention to detail in data handling and documentation
  • Interest in environmental applications of AI
