Junior LLM Developer

About the role

We build AI-powered customer support tools for mid-size SaaS companies. Our product takes a company's help docs, API references, and past support tickets, then uses that knowledge to answer customer questions accurately and escalate when it can't. Simple concept. Hard to get right. As a junior LLM developer, you'll help build and maintain the integrations that connect our AI engine to client knowledge bases. You'll write LangChain pipelines, test retrieval accuracy, fix edge cases in response generation, and build evaluation dashboards that track how well the AI is performing per client. You'll work alongside 3 senior engineers who will review your code, pair program on hard problems, and help you grow. We hire juniors for curiosity and work ethic, not years on a resume.

Responsibilities

  • Build LangChain pipelines for client knowledge base integration
  • Test and improve retrieval accuracy across different document types
  • Fix edge cases in AI response generation and escalation logic
  • Build evaluation dashboards tracking per-client AI performance
  • Participate in code reviews and pair programming sessions

Requirements

  • Python proficiency and basic SQL skills
  • Familiarity with OpenAI API or similar LLM tools
  • Understanding of REST APIs and web frameworks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Portfolio of personal or academic AI projects
