AI 3D Asset Generation Developer

About the role

Creating a single photorealistic 3D asset for a game or architectural visualization takes a skilled artist 4-8 hours. Our generative pipeline produces draft-quality assets in 12 minutes. The gap between "draft quality" and "production ready" is where you come in. We're building the next iteration of our text-to-3D and image-to-3D pipeline, focusing on geometric accuracy, texture fidelity, and mesh topology that downstream tools can actually work with. The current output needs manual cleanup 70% of the time; the target is under 20%. You'll work with diffusion-based 3D generation models, neural radiance fields, and mesh optimization algorithms. The team is six engineers and two research scientists. We ship weekly to our SaaS platform used by 1,200 game studios and architecture firms. You'll own the post-generation quality pipeline — everything from raw model output to export-ready asset.

Responsibilities

  • Improve geometric accuracy and texture quality of generated 3D assets
  • Build automated quality scoring for generated meshes and textures
  • Optimize mesh topology for compatibility with downstream 3D tools
  • Integrate new research models into the production generation pipeline
  • Benchmark generation quality against manual artist baselines
  • Reduce manual cleanup rate from 70% to under 20%

Requirements

  • 5+ years in ML engineering with focus on computer vision or 3D generation
  • Experience with diffusion models, NeRFs, or 3D reconstruction techniques
  • Strong PyTorch skills and GPU programming knowledge
  • Understanding of 3D file formats, mesh processing, and rendering basics
  • Ability to work iteratively with fast release cycles
