About the role

We build AI tools that make digital content accessible to people with disabilities. Our platform automatically generates alt text for images, creates audio descriptions for videos, simplifies complex documents for cognitive accessibility, and translates content into plain language. AI isn't just a nice-to-have here — it's the entire product. As a junior AI accessibility engineer, you'll work on the LLM-powered pipelines that generate accessible content. Your first projects will focus on improving alt text quality, building evaluation frameworks for accessible content generation, and testing our models against WCAG compliance standards. This role is for someone who cares about accessibility and wants to apply AI to make the internet more inclusive. Technical skill matters, but so does empathy for the users we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Improve LLM-powered alt text generation for diverse image types
  • Build evaluation frameworks for accessible content quality
  • Test AI outputs against WCAG compliance standards
  • Develop LangChain pipelines for document simplification workflows
  • Participate in user testing sessions with accessibility focus groups

Requirements

  • Python proficiency with interest in NLP and AI applications
  • Basic understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Familiarity with OpenAI API or LLM tools
  • Empathy for users with disabilities and commitment to inclusive design
  • Strong attention to detail in content quality evaluation
