AI Accessibility Prompt Engineer

About the role

You'll be the second prompt-focused hire on a team of nine, working directly with our accessibility research lead to make screen-reader-friendly AI outputs the default rather than an afterthought. We're looking for someone to write and test prompts that generate plain-language summaries, alt text, and simplified explanations for users with cognitive or visual impairments, then validate those outputs with real assistive-technology users. This freelance role is scoped around a specific set of accessibility feature launches, with strong potential to convert into an ongoing engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Write and test prompts for plain-language content generation

  • Iterate on prompt templates based on accessibility feedback

Requirements

  • 1+ year of hands-on prompt engineering experience
  • Genuine interest in accessibility and assistive technology
  • Basic SQL for reviewing evaluation data
  • Available for a scoped freelance engagement
