About the role

We build the risk models insurance carriers use to catch problems before they become losses. Quilvex Systems already handles underwriting risk, claims triage, and fraud detection for a growing list of carrier clients. Fast-moving team. Big problem. We need someone who ships. Agent commission structures are complex enough that unusual patterns — like commissions spiking right before a policy lapses — often go unnoticed until an audit years later. We want to catch them faster. You'll build the anomaly detection model behind this, working with two senior data scientists who'll help you get comfortable with insurance domain data quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Build anomaly detection models for agent commission payment patterns
  • Analyze commission data alongside policy lifecycle events
  • Support senior data scientists with feature engineering and validation
  • Build reporting summarizing flagged anomalies for the audit team
  • Document detected anomaly patterns for future model iterations

Requirements

  • Python, SQL, and pandas fundamentals
  • Statistics background for anomaly detection work
  • Interest in insurance or financial services data
  • Comfort ramping up quickly on domain-specific data
  • 0-2 years experience welcome
