About the role

We wrap AI models in production-ready APIs. Our clients train models — we handle everything else: authentication, rate limiting, versioning, monitoring, documentation, and billing. Think Stripe but for AI model serving. We currently serve 60 models for 25 clients, and the API layer needs to scale. As a junior API developer, you'll build and maintain the FastAPI services that sit between client models and their end users. You'll implement new API features (webhook callbacks, batch prediction endpoints, usage dashboards), fix bugs, write tests, and improve documentation. Our codebase is clean and well-tested. Code reviews are thorough and educational. If you want to learn how production APIs work at scale while staying close to the AI ecosystem, this is a great entry point.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain FastAPI services for AI model serving
  • Implement new API features including webhooks and batch prediction
  • Write comprehensive tests for API endpoints and edge cases
  • Improve API documentation and developer guides
  • Monitor API health and troubleshoot production issues

Requirements

  • Python proficiency with FastAPI or similar web frameworks
  • Basic understanding of REST API design patterns
  • Familiarity with Docker and basic DevOps concepts
  • SQL skills for usage analytics queries
  • Clean coding habits and willingness to write tests
