About the role

An API platform's health is determined not just by its own uptime and latency but by the health of the ecosystem built on top of it. A partner integration that's making 10,000 API calls per day and suddenly stops is a partner that churned. A partner whose error rate has climbed from 2% to 18% over three weeks is a partner with an integration problem that will either churn them or generate expensive support load. Proactively monitoring partner integration health and reaching out before problems become crises is the difference between a partner platform that retains integrations and one that loses them silently. Our API gateway platform serves 1,200 enterprise API programs with 45,000 registered partner integrations. Partner ecosystem health scoring is the intelligence layer that our partner success teams use to identify at-risk integrations early. We have API usage telemetry. We don't have the behavioral health models that score each integration on its trajectory — usage trend, error rate patterns, latency degradation, and feature adoption — and surface the highest-risk integrations for proactive partner outreach. You'll build the partner ecosystem health scoring system: engineering integration health signals from API telemetry, training health trajectory models that predict integration churn, and building the partner success workflow integration that turns health scores into actionable outreach queues for partner managers.

Responsibilities

  • Design integration health scoring from API telemetry: usage trajectory, error rates, latency trends, feature adoption
  • Train health trajectory models predicting integration churn from behavioral degradation signals
  • Build partner segmentation identifying integration health patterns by partner tier, API category, and use case
  • Develop proactive outreach queue prioritizing partner manager attention on highest-risk integrations
  • Create ecosystem health dashboards showing API program health aggregate and individual integration drill-down
  • Monitor health score accuracy comparing flagged integrations against realized churn and support ticket outcomes

Requirements

  • 6+ years in data science or ML engineering with API analytics, partner success, or developer platform experience
  • Deep understanding of API integration patterns, developer lifecycle, and partner ecosystem management
  • Strong Python and statistical modeling skills with behavioral cohort analysis and churn prediction
  • Experience building health scoring systems used by customer-facing success teams
  • Track record improving partner retention through data-driven early intervention programs
