About the role

Professional sports broadcasts use 15-30 cameras with a human director switching between them in real time — deciding when to show the wide shot, when to cut to a close-up, when to replay, and when to show the crowd reaction. Our automated director does this for amateur and semi-professional sports that can't afford a production crew, using fixed PTZ cameras and AI-driven camera selection. The directing challenge goes beyond object tracking. Good directing is about storytelling: following the build-up before a goal, cutting to the scorer's reaction, showing the bench response, then returning to the wide shot for the restart. You'll build the narrative logic that sequences these shots, timing cuts to match the rhythm of the game and the emotional arc of each moment. The broadcast AI team is six engineers. You'll be the senior engineer who defines the directing intelligence, working alongside camera control engineers who handle PTZ positioning and the streaming team who manages encoding and delivery.

Fully remote.
