About the role

As a fully async team spread across 9 time zones, we believe great engineers don't need to be in the same room — or even the same continent — to build exceptional products. We ship AI-powered workflow automation tools for HR departments, and our async culture means deep work is protected, meetings are rare, and documentation is everything. You'll build the AI components that power our automation engine: document parsing, intelligent routing, approval chain suggestions, and compliance checks. The stack is Python, LangChain, and Airflow, with FastAPI serving the orchestration layer. We're looking for someone who writes clear code, clear docs, and clear Slack messages. Technical skill matters, but so does the ability to work independently and communicate asynchronously.

Responsibilities

  • Build AI-powered automation workflows for HR document processing
  • Design and implement intelligent routing logic using LLMs
  • Own Airflow DAGs for multi-step automation orchestration
  • Write comprehensive documentation for every feature shipped
  • Participate in async code reviews and architectural discussions

Requirements

  • 3+ years in backend engineering with Python
  • Experience with LangChain or similar LLM orchestration frameworks
  • Comfort with async-first remote work culture
  • Familiarity with Airflow and Docker
  • Strong written communication skills
