About the role

As a fully async team spread across 7 time zones, we believe great engineers don't need to be in the same room to do their best work. We already have a solid transaction categorization pipeline and years of repayment data across our buy-now-pay-later product line. What's missing is a dedicated default risk model that scores a borrower at checkout, not just after the fact. You'll own that model end to end, from feature engineering on repayment history to shipping a real-time score into the checkout flow. We don't care where you work from, we care about output, clear communication, and ownership.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build default risk models using historical repayment data
  • Engineer features from transaction and checkout behavior
  • Ship real-time scoring into the checkout flow
  • Monitor model drift as spending patterns shift
  • Partner with risk and finance teams on threshold tuning

Requirements

  • 4+ years in credit risk or fraud modeling
  • Strong SQL and Python skills for large transaction datasets
  • Experience with scikit-learn or similar modeling libraries
  • Comfortable working async across time zones
  • Background in consumer lending a plus
