AI Camera Calibration Drift Detection Engineer

Hannah Cohen

Full-time · Job · Denver

About the role

Depth estimation and point cloud models are the core of what we build, and all of them assume the cameras feeding them stay perfectly calibrated — an assumption that quietly breaks down as rigs get bumped, heat up, or age in the field. We publish internally and encourage conference submissions, so this role expects you to read the latest calibration drift literature and turn findings into a monitoring system that flags a rig before its drift degrades reconstruction quality. You'll maintain calibration health checks across deployed camera rigs and work with field teams to recalibrate before drift becomes a visible problem in production output.

Responsibilities

  • Build monitoring that detects camera calibration drift over time
  • Research and apply findings from calibration drift literature
  • Partner with field teams to recalibrate drifting rigs
  • Document drift patterns and their impact on reconstruction quality

Requirements

  • 3+ years working with camera calibration or 3D vision systems
  • Comfortable reading research on calibration methods and applying it
  • Experience with deployed camera hardware a plus

Benefits

  • Fully remote with flexible hours
  • Internal research time allocated each month
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage
