AI Changelog-to-Documentation Sync Developer

About the role

Product changelogs say what changed. Documentation says how things work. When a changelog announces "Added support for batch processing in the /predict endpoint," the API docs, tutorials, and migration guides all need updating — but they rarely are, because the documentation team doesn't have bandwidth to track every changelog entry across 15 microservices. Our sync tool bridges this gap: monitoring changelogs and release notes, identifying which documentation pages are affected, generating draft updates with the correct technical details, and routing them to the right documentation owner for review. You'll build the impact detection pipeline that connects changelog entries to the documentation pages they affect. The developer experience team is three engineers. You'll start with the changelog parsing and impact detection layers, learning how product changes propagate through documentation. Your senior teammate handles the draft generation; you'll provide the precise mapping of what changed and what docs need updating.

Responsibilities

  • Parse changelogs and release notes into structured change records
  • Map change records to affected documentation pages
  • Build impact detection identifying which docs need updating
  • Route update tasks to appropriate documentation owners
  • Test impact detection accuracy against manually tracked documentation updates
  • Handle diverse changelog formats across multiple microservices

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python development experience
  • Basic understanding of API documentation and technical writing
  • Familiarity with LLM frameworks for text analysis
  • Experience with REST APIs and web scraping
  • Interest in developer tools and documentation quality
