About the role

We just signed our largest client yet, and their support volume alone will double the load on our chatbot escalation logic within the quarter. Our mission is to make sure the customers who need a human get one immediately, without the twenty other frustrated users clogging the same queue. LangChain and the OpenAI API are what power our sentiment and urgency detection today; your job is to make that detection sharp enough to route the right conversations to human agents before frustration turns into churn. This role has real urgency — the routing model you ship this quarter directly affects renewal conversations with our newest client.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Own sentiment and urgency detection for chatbot escalation routing
  • Tune routing thresholds using real conversation and outcome data
  • Partner with support leadership to validate escalation accuracy
  • Monitor and reduce false escalations reaching human agents

Requirements

  • 5+ years building production NLP or LLM-backed systems
  • Experience with sentiment analysis or intent classification at scale
  • Comfortable working under real business deadlines and urgency
