AI Chatbot Handoff Summary Engineer

About the role

Have you ever been transferred from a bot to a human agent and had to repeat everything from the start? Our customers' end users hate it, and so do their support teams. Brenvo Tech is bringing in a contractor for six months to fix the handoff moment. You'll build the component that reads a bot conversation, writes a short summary for the human agent (intent, what was tried, customer mood, account details already verified), and injects it into the agent's console before they say hello. We'll give you real anonymized transcripts, a small evaluation team, and direct access to our head of conversational AI. Possible extension if the pilot goes well.

Responsibilities

  • Design and iterate prompts that produce consistent, scannable handoff summaries
  • Build an evaluation harness scoring summaries for accuracy, omissions and tone
  • Partner with our integrations engineer to push summaries into Zendesk and Intercom consoles
  • Hand over documented prompts, tests and dashboards at the end of the contract

Requirements

  • Proven work shipping LLM features in production, not only prototypes
  • Strong grasp of prompt design, output structuring and automated evaluation
  • Experience with customer support data or contact center tooling
  • Available for at least 30 hours per week with 3 hours overlap with Pacific time
