About the role

Insurance companies need to price climate risk 30 years into the future. Traditional actuarial models use historical loss data that no longer reflects reality — because the climate that generated those losses has changed. Our platform combines climate science projections with ML to model physical risks that haven't happened yet. You'll build risk models for specific perils: hurricane wind speed projections under different warming scenarios, wildfire probability surfaces accounting for vegetation change and urban expansion, and flood risk maps that incorporate sea level rise and changing precipitation patterns. Climate risk modeling sits at the intersection of atmospheric science and financial modeling. You'll translate climate projections from degrees of warming into dollars of expected loss — the output that underwriters actually need. If you can bridge physical science and financial risk quantification, this role is uniquely suited to your skills.

Fully remote.
