AI Climate Scenario Simulation Engineer

About the role

Our mission is to make climate risk visible to organizations that can't afford a team of climatologists. Municipal planning departments keep asking us for localized flood and heat projections we can't yet generate at scale. You'll build simulation pipelines that turn global climate models into neighborhood-level scenarios, working alongside two climate scientists and a data engineer. Our tools are used by nonprofits and public agencies who rely on this data to plan infrastructure investment, not just publish reports.

Responsibilities

  • Translate global climate model outputs into local scenario simulations
  • Validate simulation outputs against historical event data
  • Support climate scientists with reproducible simulation pipelines

Requirements

  • Experience with python and numerical simulation
  • Comfortable working with large geospatial or climate datasets
  • Statistics background for uncertainty quantification
