AI Closed Caption Timing Synchronization Engineer

About the role

We don't care where you work from. We care about output, clear communication, and whether captions land on screen at the moment someone actually needs to read them. Poorly synced captions are one of the top complaints from deaf and hard-of-hearing users of our streaming partners, especially during fast-paced dialogue. You'll rebuild the timing alignment layer between our speech transcription output and on-screen caption rendering, targeting frame-accurate sync across variable frame rate content.

Responsibilities

  • Rebuild timing alignment between transcription output and caption rendering
  • Handle frame-accurate sync across variable frame rate source content
  • Reduce reported sync-drift complaints from streaming partners
  • Own the fastapi service powering the caption timing pipeline

Requirements

  • Experience with audio-visual synchronization or media pipelines
  • Comfortable with pytorch for timing prediction models
  • Familiarity with containerized deployment via docker
  • Attention to accessibility standards a strong plus
