About the role

Nobody writes good documentation. Not because engineers don't know how — they do — but because documentation is always the lowest priority and the first thing to go stale. Our platform generates first-draft documentation from code, git history, and PR descriptions, cutting the time engineers spend on docs by 70% while producing output that's more accurate than what humans write in a hurry. You'll be the second junior engineer on the documentation generation team, working on the pipeline features that extract structure from code repositories and generate accurate technical content. Your immediate projects: improving docstring generation for Python and TypeScript, building the changelog summarization pipeline that converts git diffs into readable release notes, and adding support for infrastructure-as-code documentation from Terraform and CloudFormation templates. The senior engineer you'll work with knows the LLM APIs deeply and will teach you the prompt engineering patterns that make accurate technical documentation possible.

Responsibilities

  • Improve docstring generation accuracy for Python and TypeScript codebases
  • Build changelog summarization pipeline from git diffs and PR descriptions
  • Add infrastructure-as-code documentation support for Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Write automated evaluation scripts comparing generated docs against human-written examples
  • Maintain prompt library and version documentation templates as models update
  • Help triage quality issues reported by beta clients

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python development experience
  • Basic familiarity with LLM APIs and prompt construction
  • Comfort reading and understanding code in at least one additional language
  • Interest in developer tooling, documentation, or software quality
  • Detail-oriented approach to evaluating text output quality
