About the role

Product teams need to know what competitors are doing — pricing changes, feature launches, messaging shifts, hiring patterns. But tracking 15 competitors across product pages, job boards, press releases, and social media is a full-time job that nobody has bandwidth for. Our competitive intelligence platform automates the tracking and surfaces the changes that matter. As a freelance competitive intelligence analyst, you'll help build and maintain the monitoring pipeline: configuring tracking for competitor product pages and job postings, reviewing AI-generated change summaries for accuracy, building classification rules that separate meaningful competitive signals from noise, and generating the weekly competitive briefings that product teams use for strategic planning. Competitive intelligence requires judgment as much as technology. A competitor hiring 5 ML engineers tells you something different than hiring 5 salespeople. A pricing page change might signal a strategy shift or just a design refresh. You'll develop the analytical instincts that separate signal from noise in competitive monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Configure competitive tracking across product pages, job boards, and announcements

  • Identify strategic implications of competitor hiring, pricing, and product changes

Requirements

  • Python and SQL proficiency for data analysis
  • Interest in competitive analysis and market intelligence

  • Basic understanding of AI/ML industry landscape
  • Attention to detail for change detection accuracy
