About the role

Compliance officers at banks spend 60% of their time on document review — reading through transaction reports, client disclosures, and regulatory filings looking for red flags. Our platform automates the first pass, using NLP to flag suspicious patterns and draft initial compliance assessments. You'll build the automation pipelines that connect our NLP models to compliance workflows: document ingestion, entity extraction, risk scoring, and automated report generation. Each pipeline needs to be auditable — regulators want to see exactly how the AI arrived at each flag. The stack is LangChain for orchestration, FastAPI for the service layer, and OpenAI API for generation tasks. You'll work with 2 senior engineers and a compliance advisor who keeps us honest about what regulators actually care about.

Responsibilities

  • Build compliance automation pipelines for document review and risk scoring
  • Design auditable workflows with complete decision traceability
  • Implement entity extraction and red flag detection for financial documents
  • Develop automated compliance report generation features
  • Collaborate with compliance advisors on regulatory accuracy requirements

Requirements

  • 3+ years in software engineering with NLP or automation experience
  • Hands-on LangChain and OpenAI API experience
  • Strong Python skills with FastAPI
  • SQL proficiency for document and compliance data queries
  • Interest in regulatory compliance or financial services
