AI Compliance Gap Assessment Tool Developer

About the role

When a new AI regulation drops — like the EU AI Act — companies need to figure out which of their AI systems are affected, what obligations apply, and where the gaps are between current practice and compliance requirements. That assessment currently takes a consulting firm 3 months and costs $500K. Our tool does the first pass in 2 days. The tool ingests a company's AI system inventory (descriptions, data sources, use cases, risk levels), maps each system against regulatory requirements using an NLP-powered matching engine, and generates a gap assessment report highlighting what's compliant, what's not, and what needs to change. You'll build the matching engine and the report generator. The compliance tools team is four engineers. You'll work closely with our regulatory knowledge team who maintain the structured database of requirements across 12 regulatory frameworks. Your matching engine connects their structured rules to the messy reality of how companies describe their own AI systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build NLP matching engine connecting AI system descriptions to regulatory requirements
  • Generate structured gap assessment reports from matching results
  • Handle ambiguity in system descriptions and regulatory language
  • Integrate new regulatory frameworks as they're published
  • Design evaluation metrics for matching accuracy against expert assessments
  • Support client onboarding with system inventory template development

Requirements

  • 3+ years building NLP applications with text matching or classification
  • Experience with LangChain, OpenAI API, or similar LLM frameworks
  • Strong Python and API design skills
  • Ability to work with complex, domain-specific text
  • Interest in regulatory technology and AI governance
