About the role

Our clients include audit committees and general counsel offices at companies where an undisclosed conflict of interest can trigger a regulatory investigation, not just an awkward conversation. Candor Systems already flags policy violations and whistleblower reports for these teams. You'll build the model that reviews disclosure forms and cross-references them against vendor relationships, board memberships, and prior filings to flag conflicts before they become findings in an external audit. This means working with structured intake data as well as messier free-text disclosure answers. Every flag you raise gets reviewed by a compliance officer who needs to trust the reasoning behind it, so the impact here is measured in audits that go smoothly instead of turning into multi-week investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Build models that cross-reference disclosure forms against vendor and board relationship data
  • Design scoring logic that flags likely undisclosed conflicts for compliance review
  • Process both structured intake fields and free-text disclosure responses
  • Partner with compliance officers to calibrate flagging thresholds
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation of every flagging decision

Requirements

  • Experience building rule-based or ML flagging systems in a compliance context
  • Strong SQL skills for relationship and entity matching
  • scikit-learn experience for classification tasks
  • AWS production deployment experience
  • Comfort working with sensitive, confidential disclosure data
