About the role

We're building the next generation of AI-powered compliance tools and need a contractor to help translate regulatory filings across jurisdictions without losing legal nuance. Generic machine translation keeps mangling defined terms that carry specific legal weight, and that's the exact problem this contract exists to solve over the next few months alongside our policy research team.

Responsibilities

  • Fine-tune translation prompts to preserve legal terminology across languages
  • Build evaluation sets covering filings from multiple jurisdictions
  • Work with policy researchers to validate translation accuracy
  • Document terminology glossaries for reuse across future filings

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience with NLP or translation systems
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering for structured outputs
  • Interest in regulatory or legal domain text
  • Available for a 4-month contract, part-time acceptable
