About the role

Customer success teams manage hundreds of accounts and need to prioritize their attention. Which accounts are thriving and don't need hand-holding? Which are quietly going dark and are at churn risk? The health score answers both questions — a single number that summarizes account engagement, product adoption, support activity, and commercial signals into a prioritization tool that CS managers check every morning. As a junior developer, you'll build the data pipelines and scoring logic that compute health scores for each account on a nightly basis. You'll ingest data from product analytics (login frequency, feature usage, session depth), support systems (ticket volume and sentiment), and CRM (renewal date proximity, contract value), combine them into a weighted composite score, and surface alerts when scores decline significantly. The customer success tools team is four engineers. You'll learn what drives B2B SaaS customer health by working closely with CS managers who use the scores to plan their outreach calendar. Every weighting decision you make influences which customers get proactive attention.

Responsibilities

  • Build nightly data pipelines computing account health scores
  • Ingest product analytics, support, and CRM data for composite scoring
  • Implement weighted scoring with configurable weights per client
  • Create alerts for significant health score declines
  • Build dashboards displaying health scores for CS team dashboards
  • Track score predictive accuracy against actual churn outcomes

Requirements

  • 1+ year of data analysis or backend development with SQL
  • Basic understanding of SaaS metrics and customer success concepts
  • Familiarity with Python and data pipeline patterns
  • Interest in B2B SaaS and customer success operations
  • Clear communication for explaining scoring logic to non-technical stakeholders
