About the role

You'll join a cross-functional squad with defined sprints, clear ownership, and weekly syncs with leadership. Our clients move freight across a dozen jurisdictions and a single missing HS code can hold a shipment at port for days. This role builds the system that cross-references product descriptions against tariff schedules, flags documentation gaps before customs does, and keeps an audit trail brokers can hand to regulators without editing. You'll inherit a working pipeline and are expected to harden it for scale, not start from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full ML pipeline from tariff classification to audit export
  • Build automated checks against changing customs regulations by country
  • Reduce false-positive documentation flags reported by brokers
  • Maintain data lineage for regulator-facing audit trails

Requirements

  • Production experience with etl pipelines and airflow orchestration
  • Familiarity with trade compliance or logistics documentation a plus
  • Comfortable owning a system end to end, not just a model
  • Strong sql for reconciling multi-country classification data
