About the role

Business dashboards are full of charts nobody reads. Our platform adds an intelligence layer: natural language summaries of what changed this week, automated anomaly detection that highlights metrics worth investigating, and predictive alerts that warn teams before KPIs breach thresholds. This 8-month contract focuses on the anomaly detection engine. You'll build the system that monitors thousands of business metrics across client dashboards, learns normal patterns for each metric, and generates alerts when something deviates significantly — with context explaining why the deviation matters and what might have caused it. The challenge is calibrating sensitivity per metric. Revenue anomalies need different thresholds than page view anomalies. Seasonal patterns must be separated from genuine surprises. And every alert needs a clear explanation, because alert fatigue kills adoption faster than missed detections.

Responsibilities

  • Build anomaly detection across thousands of business metrics
  • Design metric-specific sensitivity calibration for alert thresholds
  • Separate seasonal patterns from genuine anomalies in time series data
  • Generate contextual explanations for detected anomalies
  • Integrate anomaly alerts into existing dashboard platforms

Requirements

  • 3+ years in data science with time series anomaly detection experience
  • Strong Python and SQL skills for metric analysis
  • Experience with statistical anomaly detection methods
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools
  • Ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
