AI Data Masking Policy Engineer

About the role

Our mission is to make enterprise data trustworthy enough to build on without exposing what shouldn't be exposed. Relvix Data's governance platform already tracks lineage and enforces data contracts for large enterprise clients. In this role you'll build the policy engine that automatically applies masking rules to sensitive fields based on data classification, access context, and regulatory requirements — replacing a patchwork of manual masking scripts our clients currently maintain themselves. Every masking decision needs to be explainable and auditable, since our clients operate in regulated industries where a wrong masking decision is a compliance incident, not just a bug.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build a policy engine for automated data masking rules
  • Integrate masking logic with Snowflake and Spark data pipelines
  • Build audit logging for every masking decision made
  • Partner with compliance teams to define masking policy requirements
  • Migrate existing client masking scripts onto the new policy engine

Requirements

  • Strong SQL and Spark experience with large-scale data pipelines
  • Snowflake experience preferred
  • Background in data governance or compliance-adjacent engineering
  • AWS production experience
  • Comfort building auditable, explainable systems
