AI Data Product Certification Engineer

About the role

Our data pipelines are growing faster than our team, and every new dataset that ships without a clear quality bar becomes tomorrow's incident. We're looking for someone to build the certification process that stops that cycle before it starts. You'll design and implement an automated certification pipeline that every internal dataset must pass before it's marked production-ready: schema checks, freshness SLAs, lineage documentation, and ownership sign-off, all enforced through Airflow rather than a wiki page nobody reads. This is a senior role with real influence over how the whole data org operates. You'll set the bar, then build the automation that makes meeting it the path of least resistance.

Responsibilities

  • Design the certification criteria and workflow for production data products
  • Build Airflow-based automation that enforces certification checks
  • Partner with data owners across Snowflake and AWS-hosted pipelines
  • Report on certification coverage and remediation progress to data leadership

Requirements

  • 6+ years in data engineering or data platform roles
  • Deep experience with Airflow orchestration in production
  • Strong SQL and Snowflake or comparable warehouse experience
  • Track record of driving org-wide process change, not just individual pipelines
