About the role

We're building climate risk models that insurers and municipalities rely on for multi-year planning decisions. As a junior data scientist joining our small analytics pod, you'll work with pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn to clean and model environmental datasets that feed into our forecasting products. We don't care where you work from — we care about output, clear communication, and ownership of your piece of the pipeline. Your models will directly inform planning decisions for coastal and agricultural communities.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and preprocess environmental datasets using pandas and NumPy
  • Build and validate scikit-learn models for climate risk forecasting
  • Document modeling assumptions clearly for non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

  • Solid foundation in Python, pandas, and scikit-learn from coursework or projects
  • Basic understanding of statistical modeling concepts
  • Eagerness to learn domain-specific climate data challenges
