About the role

As a fully async team spread across 9 time zones, we believe great data governance shouldn't depend on everyone being online at once. Data stewardship tasks — reviewing flagged records, approving schema changes, resolving ownership disputes — currently land in one shared queue with no smart routing. You'll build the assignment engine that routes each task to the right steward based on domain expertise, current workload, and historical resolution speed, running on Airflow against our AWS-hosted data platform. Done well, this quietly fixes one of the biggest bottlenecks in our governance program.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build the task routing engine that assigns stewardship work based on expertise and workload
  • Maintain Airflow pipelines that keep steward workload and expertise data current
  • Write SQL-based reporting on stewardship task resolution time by domain
  • Iterate on routing logic based on steward feedback and resolution outcomes

Requirements

  • Strong Python and SQL skills for building routing and reporting logic
  • Experience with Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools
  • Familiarity with AWS-based data infrastructure
  • Experience with data governance or metadata systems a strong plus
