About the role

As a fully async team spread across nine time zones, we believe great engineers can do their best work from anywhere. Our deployment pipeline has grown complex enough that cost spikes sometimes slip through unnoticed until the monthly cloud bill arrives. We're looking for someone to build the auditing layer that catches these anomalies as they happen rather than a month later, working alongside our platform engineering team to trace unusual spend back to specific deployment events.

Responsibilities

  • Build anomaly detection for deployment-related cloud spend spikes
  • Trace cost anomalies back to specific deployment events or configuration changes
  • Create weekly cost audit reports for the platform engineering team
  • Suggest guardrails to prevent recurring cost anomalies

Requirements

  • 1-2 years working with Kubernetes or Docker-based deployment environments
  • Basic Python and SQL skills for building audit reports
  • Familiarity with AWS cost and usage data
  • Strong attention to detail when tracing root causes
