About the role

We don't care where you work from, we care about clean pipelines and predictable deployment behavior during high-risk periods. Our canary analysis and rollback automation tools already make individual deployments safer, but client teams keep asking for change freeze windows around major events, and enforcing those freezes today means someone manually blocking merges by hand. This freelance engagement builds an enforcement layer that automatically blocks or holds deployments during declared freeze windows across client Kubernetes environments.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build enforcement logic blocking deployments during declared freeze windows
  • Integrate freeze enforcement with existing Kubernetes deployment pipelines
  • Deliver clear override procedures for genuine emergency deployments
  • Document the system for the internal platform team to maintain going forward

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Kubernetes-based deployment automation
  • Comfortable with Airflow or similar orchestration tooling
  • Ability to design safe override paths for emergency situations
  • Clear written documentation and handoff practices
