About the role

Our support inbox receives 400+ emails per day. They go to one shared mailbox. Nothing is tagged, nothing is routed, and our team plays inbox roulette every morning. We need an AI triage system: classify incoming emails by topic and urgency, extract key info (customer ID, order number, issue type), route to the right team queue in Zendesk, and generate a draft reply suggestion for the agent. We've tried rule-based routing. It breaks constantly. We want something that understands intent.
