AI Developer Onboarding Personalization Engineer

About the role

Navio Tech builds the developer experience layer that makes AI APIs approachable for engineers who aren't ML experts. One of our core challenges: every developer who signs up has a different starting point — different tech stack, different use case, different level of AI experience. Right now, our onboarding flow is one-size-fits-all. That's the problem you'll solve. In this role, you'll build the ML models and rule-based logic that personalize the onboarding journey for each developer segment. You'll analyze usage telemetry from our first 50,000 API signups, build segmentation models that cluster developers by intent and expertise, and collaborate with the product team to wire these segments into an adaptive onboarding UI. This is a junior role, and we mean it — we'll invest in your growth. You'll pair regularly with a senior product data scientist, ship to production within your first month, and own a feature with direct impact on developer activation rates.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze developer signup and early usage telemetry to identify onboarding friction points
  • Build segmentation models to cluster developers by intent, tech stack, and expertise level
  • Collaborate with product to wire model outputs into adaptive onboarding UI flows
  • Own A/B testing infrastructure for onboarding personalization experiments
  • Report activation rate improvements to the growth team weekly

Requirements

  • 1+ year experience in data analysis or product analytics
  • Solid Python and SQL skills
  • Familiarity with product analytics concepts (activation, retention, funnel)
  • Exposure to API products or developer tooling is helpful
  • Willingness to learn and iterate quickly in a startup environment
