AI Document Version Reconciliation Engineer

About the role

Clients send us the same contract or claim document three or four times across a negotiation, each time with small edits, and right now our system treats each upload as unrelated rather than recognizing it's the same document evolving. You'll build the reconciliation layer that detects when incoming documents are related versions of something we've already processed, merges the extracted data intelligently, and flags conflicting fields for review instead of silently overwriting them. You'll join a cross-functional squad with defined sprints, clear ownership, and weekly syncs with leadership, working alongside the team that already owns our document routing and extraction pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Build a system detecting related versions of previously processed documents
  • Design conflict resolution logic for merging extracted data across versions
  • Flag conflicting fields for human review instead of silent overwrites
  • Integrate reconciliation into the existing Airflow-based extraction pipeline
  • Partner with product on how reconciled data surfaces to end users

Requirements

  • FastAPI experience building production document processing services
  • Airflow experience for pipeline orchestration
  • AWS deployment experience
  • Experience with document similarity or version detection problems
  • Comfort working in a structured, sprint-based team
