AI Documentation Translation Consistency Engineer

About the role

We're building the documentation tools that keep API references in sync across twelve languages. Right now, when an English doc changes, translated versions drift out of date for weeks before anyone notices the mismatch. You'll join a small documentation tooling team that already ships changelog-sync and API reference generation. This role closes the loop on translation: detecting when a source doc changes, flagging which translated versions are now stale, and suggesting consistent terminology across languages. We don't care where you work from or what hours you keep, as long as changes ship and stale docs get flagged before a customer notices before we do.

Responsibilities

  • Detect source documentation changes and flag stale translated versions
  • Build terminology consistency checks across translated API references
  • Integrate flagging into the existing changelog-sync pipeline
  • Work with technical writers to prioritize which languages need review first
  • Report weekly on translation staleness metrics across all supported languages

Requirements

  • Comfortable with Python scripting for documentation tooling
  • Basic experience with LangChain or Hugging Face for translation tasks
  • SQL fluency for querying documentation metadata
  • Detail-oriented, especially with multilingual text edge cases
