AI Draft Pick Valuation Model Developer

About the role

Trivon Data builds AI-powered sports analytics tools used by professional teams and sports betting operators. Draft pick valuation is one of the most consequential decisions a front office makes — and right now, most teams are still using spreadsheets and gut feel. We're changing that. In this junior role, you'll work alongside a senior sports data scientist to build regression and ranking models that estimate the expected value of draft picks given historical player performance data, positional scarcity, and team fit signals. You'll clean and structure draft data going back 15 years, build model evaluation pipelines, and help productize outputs for our front office client dashboard. If you played fantasy sports competitively, studied sports analytics in school, or have built prediction models for any sports domain, you'll ramp quickly here. We expect curiosity and strong analytical fundamentals — not 10 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build regression and ranking models for draft pick expected value estimation
  • Clean and structure historical draft, combine, and performance datasets
  • Develop model evaluation pipelines and backtesting frameworks
  • Collaborate with senior data scientists to productize model outputs for client dashboards
  • Research and implement published sports analytics methods

Requirements

  • 1+ year experience in data analysis or ML
  • Solid Python and SQL skills
  • Strong statistical reasoning and quantitative thinking
  • Interest in sports analytics, fantasy sports, or sports betting domains
  • Experience with scikit-learn or similar ML libraries is a plus
