AI Edge Device Security Attestation Engineer

About the role

Our fleet of edge devices ships firmware updates every week, and right now we have no reliable way to prove a device hasn't been tampered with before it rejoins the network. We already have an OTA update pipeline and a device registry that tracks hardware versions across thousands of units in the field. What's missing is a trust layer: cryptographic attestation that runs on-device and flags anything that looks off before it gets network access. Fast-moving team, big problem, we need someone who ships. You'll own the attestation protocol from design through rollout, working close to the metal on constrained hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement on-device attestation checks
  • Build tooling that verifies firmware integrity at boot
  • Work with the registry team to flag anomalous devices
  • Optimize attestation routines for constrained hardware
  • Own incident response when a device fails attestation

Requirements

  • 4+ years in embedded systems or edge security
  • Experience with cryptographic attestation or secure boot
  • Comfortable working directly with constrained hardware
  • Strong Python and systems programming background
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for fleet tooling
